Quarterly Market Review

In the last quarter, US stocks rose by 3.22%, contrasting with a slight decline of -0.6% in international developed markets. Within the US, value stocks lagged behind growth stocks, and small-cap stocks underperformed large caps. Emerging market stocks outperformed both sectors by gaining 5%; emerging market capitalization has swelled to $8.9 trillion, representing 11% of the global market.

In the bond market, US bonds saw a modest increase of 0.07%, while global bonds increased 0.11%. Even though the US Treasury yield curve remains inverted, long-term yields increased at a higher rate than short-term yields: 1 month yields were down -0.02%, 1 year up 0.06%, 5 years up 0.12%, and 30 years up 0.17%.

Real estate was down -1.48% as US home prices hit a record high. US REITS fell -0.16% and Global REITS ex US dropped -4.39%.
